My name is Eric Woodward, and I am considering running for Mayor of the Township of Langley.

I have been the President of Fort Langley Business Improvement Association for the past 5 years, grew up in Langley, and taken great part pride in being a big part of the success we have seen revitalizing Fort Langley since 2005. We need more of Fort Langley's walkable principles in the rest of Langley.

I believe that we are not getting the best in urban design and planning, real solutions to never-ending infrastructure problems, or developing Langley in a sustainable way. For example, in 2018, we should definitely not be planning strip malls next to farmland.

We need to do better. We can do better.

ABOUT ERIC

I am a former self-made technology entrepreneur, turned citizen developer in Fort Langley, a believer in environmentally sustainable design, quality construction, and fighting for great, walkable neighbourhoods.

Since 2005, I have run award-winning Statewood Properties Ltd reviving Fort Langley by renovating multiple neglected buildings and building new, LEED Gold, environmentally sustainable destinations within the village.

I want to help create places people care about. I believe in the strength of community and in walkable neighbourhoods that serve the needs of their citizens. And, I believe in making a difference close to home.

I grew up in Langley City where I attended Stafford and graduated from Langley Senior Secondary. I live in the heart of Fort Langley's commercial core.

I’ve just served my fifth year as President of the Fort Langley Business Improvement Association, and have been a Director of the Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation since 2014.
